Red Shirts/Yellow shirts

The Red shirts were protesting in Chiang Mai on Saturday. They want to see the monarcy have no control over Thai matters.  The Yellow shirts are wanting to protect the King.  The Thai King is the worlds longest reigning king in the World.  He has done wonderful things for the Thai people and given them training and opportunity to provide for them through farming and market trade.

Our first few weeks at the Dorm

The dorm had two Thai dogs, which were orginally street dogs, they had been at the dorm for 5 years, but the past few years they have been biting, Pete got bitten in the first week.  We have since moved them to the country

Water play fun - it was a very hot day

Shalese helping our Househelper Khon Eid fix the hose, the girls have really enjoyed having them around, and they are helping the girls learn Thai

Started painting the walls, the blue walls were the first to go!! 45 areas Pete has to paint over the next 3 weeks.  Can he do it? Yes he can Bob the Builder

A weekly grocery shop

Our lovely home for the next 4 years

We had to get two dogs for security, Lulu is from an Aussie family who was heading home, she is 4 years old, and Nathan's her favourite

Naralak (Nara for short) means cute in Thai.  A lady was giving them away, she is 7 weeks old, a toy poodle cross with shitzu.  They are the dorm dogs. She has the same colouring of our dog from home, who has since passed away.

Our children are 50% dutch.  This photo reminded us of that fact!

Our househelper/cook Hua, gave the children a toy pottery Thai cooking set to play with, they love helping Hua in the kitchen and talking Thai with her.  The girls and Nathan are still doing an hour lesson each week during the holidays, plus an hour at school each week once they are back.  They do correct Pete and I a fair bit!

Bits and Bobs of Thailand

Shalese was not happy that we had no water at the sublet again :>

Our church that we are attending in Chiang Mai, it is a sister church of Citipointe, Brisbane, and we enjoy hearing aussie accents, and aussie preaching

We LOVE riding on the motorbikes, but....

Not so much fun when you run out of fuel!

A very large snail in our backyard

Heavy load of garlic

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia visa trip

Batu Caves. Most visited Hindu Temple outside India.  The largest Lord Murugan Statue in the world.

272 steps and as steep as you can see! We all were determined to make it to the top without stopping! We did it!

A lady at a Butik store on our girls morning out, thought it would be fun to dress up the girls.  Mmm, little sad, and a touch of reality for mum, as Muslim mothers dress thier children like this sometimes

The Batu Caves, once we climbed the steps you walk into this huge cave, and find more stairs

Central Market created in 1888, as a wet market

Monkeys at the Batu Caves temple

Made it to the top and back

fish spar for our girls morning out

The temple at the top of the last set of stairs - amazing

chinatown

Yepee finally found 7/11 slurpies - we have been hunting them down since we left Australia

What children do when your parents dont pack toys! Find any plastic bag you can find add an elastic bag and slide on the tiles in the hotel room! Lots of fun!

Kuala Lumpur city sight from the top of our hotel building

Spotted a Chinese Buddhist temple

Petronas Towers - largest twin towers in the World.  The middle bridge is not fixed to the two towers as the buildings sway 7 meters so they needed to allow for movement.  Mmmm mum is not going up there!

No food vendors/stalls allowed on footpath. Dont see that everyday!

We got our visa's renewed, and they gave us a years visa with mulitple entry which is unusual, and more than we asked PRAISE GOD! It was nice to experience another Asian City.  We found that KL was not as 'friendly' as Thailand, and the people seemed sad, and appressed.  Reading through their local newspaper also confirmed the sadness that they must feel.  Please pray that the Good News will be heard in this country, and that many will be called to come and spread the Good News.  It is a Muslim Majority Nation, but still is open to other religions, Pray that they hear before it becomes closed to the one true God!

Hamsters and other fun things
